Safety Media hits the headlines
Written By Helen Griffiths | Jun 25th, 2008 | | | Category: Featured ArticlesSafety Media is now an official news site as recognised by Google.
The site is updated daily with the latest news and information on all aspects of UK health and safety, including health and safety prosecutions, news from the HSE, and other professional news and information. It provides a fully-archived and categorised reference point for the industry.
Safety Media has fulfilled Google’s very strict criteria that determine whether a site can be included on Google News. Sites must:
- have news content that is original to the site;
- not solely promote their own activities; and
- be written and maintained by a clear organisation that has multiple writers and editors.
Safety Media has included on the site a free Vista Gadget, which can be quickly downloaded to provide health and safety news directly to the desktop for every visitor who takes advantage of the news service.
RSS feeds are also available for those without Windows Vista using earlier versions of Microsoft Windows.
The news stories may also be accessed on news and networking sites such as:
- Delicious
- Digg
- StumbleUpon
Julian Roberts from Safety Media commented: “Safety Media’s inclusion on Google news is a great achievement for the company and for users of our website, making state-of-the-art, comprehensive, news on health and safety instantly available to industry professionals with the minimum of fuss.”
In addition, Safety Media now automatically provides its news feeds as part of any new E-Learning internet based system offered by the company, so adding an up-to-the-minute news resource to its comprehensive health and safety training programmes.
The news feed can be accessed here-![]()
